SENIOR ACCOUNTANT

Job Summary

Certified Public Accounting Firm seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in Branford, CT. This person should be self-motivated and good communicator.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work independently and with other staff on compilation, review and audit engagements
  • Prepare business entity tax returns (C Corp, S Corp & Partnerships)
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Supervise staff accountants 
  • High proficiency with technology 
  • Travel to various clients as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Master’s degree a plus
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in public accounting
  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Desktop
  • Experience with the following software a plus:
    • ProSystem fx Engagement
    • PPC Smart Practice Aids/Checkpoint Tools for PPC
    • CCH Axcess Tax
    • ProSystem Fx Fixed Assets
  • Strong communication skills for client and staff interaction
  • Ability to work independently

BOOKKEEPER / PARAPROFESSIONAL

Job Summary

Certified Public Accounting Firm seeking a highly motivated Paraprofessional/Bookkeeper to join our team in Branford, CT.  This position has great growth potential for someone looking to embrace the use of technology and assist in developing streamlined processes.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with various firm clients daily to meet full charge bookkeeping needs
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Assist firm clients with setting up bookkeeping systems
  • High proficiency with technology and ability to efficiently perform bookkeeping duties (i.e. linking of bank activity)
  • Complete bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of client quarterly and annual payroll tax returns
  • Preparation of client monthly and quarterly sales tax returns
  • Preparation of year end 1099-Misc
  • Preparation of personal property tax declarations
  • Travel to various clients as needed

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience, preferably with public accounting firm
  • Expert in QuickBooks Online and Desktop
  • Strong communication skills for client interaction
  • Ability to work independently
  • Bachelor’s degree a plus
  • QuickBooks Certified Pro Advisor a plus
  • Bill.com experience a plus
